New Jersey Glass – Tinted for More Comfortable Living Spaces In New Jersey glass is now being replaced by other more effective variants to add to cost cutting and energy efficiency value to buildings. This step enables buildings to become naturally efficient at maintaining the inner building temperature, regardless of what the temperature is outside with minimum help from an artificial mechanical temperature monitoring system. The various options used include heat absorbing tints, spectrally selective coatings, insulated glass, reflective coating and glass fills. In New Jersey glass that is tinted is used in windows and other glass portions of the building as heat absorbers, as they help keep inner building temperature a little lower than the climate outside. It also helps lower the glare from the sun. There are various colors used for tinted glass. They are grey, bronze, green, blue, and black. Grey and bronze tinted glass are known to curb both heat and light from entering the building, hence they are not much preferred by customers. Green and blue tinted glass is known to curb the inflow of heat and allows free flow of visible light. This is a huge plus as it not only helps retain cool temperatures within the building, it also helps reduce electricity consumption by allowing free flow of light in to the building. Black tinted glass is not highly recommended, especially in tropical climates where it is hot enough already! |
